Blood drive

In the midst of Don Rags week at Thomas 91¶ÌÊÓƵ College, California, students took time last Tuesday to give blood in the College’s annual drive. Donors signed up for a time slot and, throughout the morning and afternoon, came and went from a classroom in St. Augustine Hall where the donation center was set up.

“It seemed like a good thing to do,â€ Sebastian Weinkopf (’30) commented. “My dad has done it before, and I’m here with three of my friends. I’ve never donated blood before but I’m excited to be here!â€

Two sisters, Magdalena (’27) and Elaine Grimm (’28), arrived at the center together, eager to be a part of this service the College provides. “I’ve wanted to donate ever since freshman year,â€ Elaine said. “This is the first time I’ve gotten to do it. I’m really glad I get to be a part of something like this.â€

Her older sister, Magdalena, echoed her words: “I have donated blood before, growing up. It’s really cool that it’s right here at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ and that it’s very accessible.â€
